Javelin Blueprint

The TRCr-9 Javelin class was once classified a heavy cruiser but the increasing difficulty in retrofitting the class to utilise up to date systems forced the Terran Republic to retire it’s fleet of these ships. A Product of the System wars these were originally designed and built as an all big gun cruiser but with the resurgence of fighter technology forced most Terran governments to refit these ships with anti-fighter armament and some like the Terran Republic used this as an opportunity to install an intermediate calibre useful against faster light warships. Another modification that was often made was to add a tactical grade fighter bay to the underside of the hull, the capacity of this bay varied but 6 fighters is the rule of thumb. At the point of retirement the Terran Republic re-classified these ships as an intermediate class with to lighter armament and protection to be considered a heavy cruiser but to slow to fill a light cruiser role.
